National Sales Congernece 2011

The 2nd National Sales Conference was held on 26th July 2011, in Lahore at Avari Hotel's Khorshed Mahal. This conference encompassed the complete Northern Region. Two days later, on 28th July 2011, the second leg of the National Sales Conference was held in Karachi at Ramada Hotel's Eifel Hall. This conference captured the whole of Southern Region. The purpose of the sales conference was to discover platforms for communication and planning skills, ideas for a better tomorrow, insights on the changing insurance industry and a chance to interact with the management and colleagues. Under the leadership of the top management and the stars of the regional sales teams, both sessions were a resounding success; special thanks to Mr. Jehnagir Bashir Nawaz, Mr. Asif Jabbar and Mr. Adnan Chaudry for their constant support and all the coordinators who put in their energy and passion in bringing the AICL team together. We also like to thank all business developers, branch heads and divisional heads for participating in the conference and making it a huge success.

The Southern Region Conference was hosted by the eloquent Ms. Shela and Mr. Absar and the Northern Region Conference was hosted with versatility by Mr. Butt and Mr. Irfan. Mr. Jehangir Bashir, the Executive Director of Adamjee Insurance initiated the conference by giving the welcome note where he appreciated the efforts in 2010 by the sales team and spoke about the challenges and the ways forward. The General Manager Sales, Mr. Asif Jabbar gave an enlightening presentation on Sales Challengers and Gaining Competitive Advantage. Next came Mr. Rehan, the GM Finance who reported the financial performance of the company in the last six months. This was shortly followed by the award distribution ceremony where the best of the best were recognized for their contribution to the company.

Mr. Nasir Mehmood was awarded the return ticket to Malaysia by Faisal Siddiqui (Head of Motor Division) for being the top performer in the "Business Incentive Scheme" launched by Ms. Sabina Rahim, Corporate HR Manager talked about employee engagement were Adamjee's superior commitments towards its employees were highlighted.

Further, the divisional heads also gave presentations which were followed by the engaging panel discussions.

However, the surprises were the guest speaker sessions that followed; in Lahore, the mild, yet, highly informed Mr. Bakhtiar Khawaja skope on the importance of goal achievement, customer satisfaction and communication between all those that make Adamjee a success. In Karachi, the same was done by the exciting and through Mr. Sohail Zindani. Thereby, the National Sales Conference 2011, inaugurated in Lahore and thunderous applause.
5th Asian Conference On Microinsurance, 11-12 July 2011, Le Meridien Jakarta

The theme of the conference was: "Micro-Reinsurance: Defining the Future Commercial Opportunity in Microinsurance" Captain Mahmood Sultan - Senior General Manager was invited by Asia Insurance Review to present Pakistan Microinsurance Model - an insight into the latest market developments. On July 11th, 2011, he presented the model and its developments along with a documentary. This was very much appreciated by other speakers and delegates from around 17 countries.

The second day of the conference focused on "Modeling for Risk in Catastrophe Microinsurance" and a special panel discussed the factors that interest reinsurers in providing support to microinsurance schemes, their unique role and importance of reinsurance, designing of commercially sustainable microinsurance programmes attractive to potential reinsurance partners and also looked into defining key success factors for scaling up microinsurance.
Pogee 2011

Over the last 7 years, POGEE has gained the reputation of being the leading energy event in the region. Bringing together one of the largest international gatherings of professionals from the energy industry, POGEE 2011 successfully hosted over 200 companies with more than 8,000 professionals from related industries visiting the exhibition for energy opportunities worldwide.

Representatives from over 25 countries including Germany, Iran, Bahrain, Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Qatar, Egypt, Finland, France, Turkey, USA and DAE took part, making POGEE a perfect stage to capture business opportunities in the emerging markets. The annual conference took place at the Expo Centre under the theme "Energy Solutions: Local & Regional Prospects of Pakistan" which not only provided a setting to attend presentations by leading experts in the global energy market, but also created an opportunity for networking, collaboration, technical sharing and business development.

To be a part of this memorable event, AICL participated by putting up an information kiosk. This gave us a chance to interact with people from the industry and brief them about the company and its offerings. This also helped us to strengthen our brand identity in the industry and assimilate competitive information. AlCL's participation in this important conference enabled face to face meetings with influential decision makers. We would like to thank all the team members who participated in the event in making it a huge success.

POGEE 2011 not only provided us the opportunity to gain international recognition, but also showed a path towards a greater scope of accomplishments and achievements.
Sales Meeting - The Way Forward 2011

Sales meeting was organized on 17th February 2011, at Sheraton Hotel by the sales department. The objective of the meeting was to bring the front end on one platform to discuss the challenges for upcoming months and devise solutions to tackle the challenges with mutual understanding.

All the branch heads, divisional heads and functional heads were invited to this meeting. Mr. Jehangir Nawaz started the meeting with opening remarks which later on was followed by HR and Finance session by Ms. Sabina and Mr. Mudassar Zubair Mirza. Mr. Nadeem Ahmad updated the status of Premia and way forward with a brief presentation. A presentation was also given on the Risk Assessment and Underwriting by Mr. Salim Iqbal and Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan.

Mr. Fredrik De Beer (CEO of Adamjee Life) was invited to this meeting and he gave an overview on the performance of Adamjee life. The session was successful in addressing the key issues and providing resolutions for making the standards smoother in achieving the targets.

In the closing remarks Mr. Asif Jabbar (GM Sales), emphasized on the need of continuous training and development programs for the development staff, to further improvise the quality of work that would ultimately effect in improving the sales targets.
MoU signed to form an Investment Consultative Group

The exhibition of Dairy, Livestock, Fisheries and Poultry was held on 7th and 8th February at Expo Centre. It was successfully organized by SBI (Sind Board of Investment) where Mr. Qaim All Shah was the Chief Guest along with Mr. Abid All Jatoi (Livestock Minister), Mr. Nawaz AN Shah (Agriculture Minister) and Mr. Zubair Motiwala (Advisor to C.M.Sindh). Around 18 financial institutions including Adamjee Insurance and government departments signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form an investment consultative group to promote investment in sectors like mines, livestock, fishing, dairy, poultry and halal market. Mr. Jehangir Bashir Nawaz signed the document on behalf of AICL. Other representatives from State Bank of Pakistan, EFU General Insurance, Standard Chartered Bank, Pak-China Investment, United Bank Limited, Pak-Kuwait Investment Company Limited, Askari Bank, Bank Alfalah, Pak-Brunei Investment Company Limited and Khushali Bank were also present.

AICL participated by placing a stall at the exhibition where guests interacted with the team & inquired about AlCL's agricultural products. The success of the exhibition will help us to further grow our business and increase our market share.
Women's Day

The international "Women's Day" is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. It is an occasion for looking back on past struggles and accomplishments, and more importantly, for looking ahead to the untapped potential and opportunities that await future generations of women. Corporate communication in collaboration with the HR department also organized AlCL's first women's day conference during March 2011 where the platform was opened for female employees to discuss success stories, issues and future plans for their empowerment. Ms. Shafaq from Engro Corp was invited as a guest speaker and she spoke on Engro's values and steps taken by the management towards creating various forums for female employees to interact and be recognized. The conference had a large attendance and the initiative was highly appreciated by the female staff of AICL.
